Maulana, the great Iranian poet

In the past, due to the wide borders of Iran and the various travels of Rumi to its scattered places, the people of different places benefited from his thoughts and during Rumi's lifetime, they called him God.

Rumi's place of residence during his lifetime includes parts of Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Turkey, many of which were part of Iran in the past. For this reason, Rumi's works have been translated in these countries and have many fans.

In Turkey, Rumi has a place beyond that of a poet and many followers are busy praising him. "Sultan Wold" the eldest son of Rumi and "Olu Arif Chalabi" the grandson of Rumi each founded a different method of Rumi's thought and called them " Maulana's Method".

Sultan Walid considered the basis of Rumi's mysticism to be in line with religious teachings and the laws of Sharia, and firstly Arif Chalabi introduced the Maulana Tariqat as a mystical path separate from Sharia rules. Every year in December, Rumi's commemoration ceremony is held in Konya along with Sama dance ceremony.

UNESCO named 2007 as the International Year of Rumi and celebrated the 800th anniversary of the birth of this eminent mystic in Turkey.

Maulana and Shams

Rumi's meeting with Shams Tabrizi in 642 Hijri at the age of 38 had a deep impact on Rumi's life. Before that, Rumi made a lot of efforts to educate himself and his students in the field of mysticism and Sufism. But Shams Tabrizi opened a new window in front of Rumi's eyes.

There are different narrations about the first meeting of Shams and Rumi; But what seems to be common in all of them is the impact of Shams Tabrizi's words on Rumi's soul and soul. Before meeting Shams, Rumi had studied all his life. Shams Tabrizi forced Rumi to reveal himself and Rumi knew that whatever he is, is in himself.

The meeting between Shams and Rumi was the most influential event in Rumi's life, and Rumi's most prominent works were written after that.

The intensity of Rumi's interest in Shams Tabrizi and the long time he spent with him enraged Rumi's disciples and admirers. Shams Tabrizi lived a different life from the scholars of his time, and in the eyes of the common people, he was a fun-loving person busy with worldly affairs, that's why the disciples of Rumi called him a sorcerer and always harassed Shams. Finally, Shams Tabrizi migrated from Konya and went to Damascus.

The duration of Rumi and Shams's time together was only 16 months, and Rumi was very affected and disturbed when Shams parted. When Rumi's disciples and disciples saw the change in his condition and were still neglected by Rumi, they regretted their actions and expressed their regret in Rumi's presence. Maulana forgave them and sent his son and 20 of his disciples to return Shams to Damascus.

Shams, who had been living in Damascus for 15 months, accepted Rumi's invitation and returned to Konya. But it didn't take long before the situation worsened and this time Shams left Konya forever and left no traces behind. During the years 645 to 647 Hijri, Rumi traveled to Damascus four times with the intention of finding Shams and stayed in this city for some time. But he never found a sign of Shams. Finally, he returned to Konya and stayed in this city until the end of his life.

"Mathnavi Manavi" and "Divan Shams", two prominent and influential works of Rumi, were published after separation from Shams Tabrizi, and comparing these works with the book Majlis Sab'a, which was written before Rumi met Shams Tabrizi, can show the effect of Rumi's changes. determine after meeting with Shams. In the literature of our country, Rumi and Shams have created unique works over the years.
